The game is off: Beast from the East forces closure of Leeds City Council sports pitches
Leeds City Council have closed all of the sports pitches they run this weekend after the Beast from the East blanketed the city with snow.
The continuation of sub-zero temperatures and the remaining snow on the ground have been given as reasons for the closures.
A Council spokesperson said: “Due to the heavy snowfall this week and freezing conditions, all Leeds City Council sports pitches are closed this weekend.”
