THE PUDSEY Pacers took part in the popular Meanwood Valley Trail Race on Saturday.
It attracted over 300 competitors, among them Martin Edwards, who completed the seven mile course in 60:55 for 139th place overall, and Alyson Glover who finished 26th in the women's race when clocking 66:39.
Also enjoying the scenic course were St
eve Ellis (63:39) and Don Stead (70:14).
On Sunday the Pacers travelled en-masse to the Driffield Striders Mucky Duck multi-terrain event, an eight-and-a-half mile event around the picturesque Yorkshire Wolds.
Some 31 Pudsey runners took part, with Paul Gaile first home in 53:07 to claim ninth position.
Next to finish was James Clark, 11th in 54:14, with Dave Woodhead 20th in 55:43. Ann Francis (61:35) and Jim Wheldon (57:14) won their respective Vet categories, while Samantha Raven, in her first ever competitive race, also collected an age-group award.
At the second of the John Carr 5k race series being held at Esholt, the ever-improving Dave Cooper went under 20 minutes for the first time when recording 19:38.
Dave Woodhead had led the way for the Pacers with 18:36 to take 53rd place among the 300-strong field, while Jenny Cooper, also with a PB, was first lady in 22:50.
Others taking part were Arthur James (32:02), Sue Ransome (24:19), Alyson Glover (23:12) and Dominic Egan (21:59), to complete another busy week for the club.
ENDS.
