Pudsey Pacers were following the successful Yorkshire Vets campaign that concluded last week.
Focus turned to cross-country, with the first round of the West Yorkshire Winter League being held at a sunny Temple Newsam.
The Pacers were quick off the mark with the men taking first place in front of a strong Stainland Lions outfit, with last year's champions Dewsbury in third.
The club's ladies were fourth on the day, though only a few points behind the leading trio, and will go into the next fixture at Skipton in good heart.
