They faced up to Spen Victoria in the first encounter at Brighouse Sports while at the same time Pudsey Littlemoor played Eccleshill.

Clayton took on Myrtle Park and in the other pairing Shipley met Cross Roads.

From the four greens, champions Pudsey moved on to a semi-final with Eccleshill.

Four winners from the first five jacks, including a win to seven for Tom Hanson, sealed the clash, with the next five ensuring that the club eased into the final by 41 chalks.

In the final at Heckmondwike, the Hanson trio of father Stuart and sons Tom and James, started proceedings with two wins from three.
Bragging rights went to the younger element of the family with both Tom and James securing victories.

That impressive start clearly galvanised those who followed as two wins from three quickly became four from five with Gary Wike striding from the green having won to eight chalks.

If the opening five had set the tone, the second five made sure of the victory. Although the side dropped two jacks, the Pudsey bowlers reached 20 and 19 respectively in their defeats.

The last jack win of Paul Bowes drove home the dominance of the Leeds club, winning to nine and capping the 42-chalk overall victory.
