Pudsey made a good start winning their opening match 3-2 over Nottingham. In the match against Lincoln they lost 3-2, missing chances in the doubles and the singles to win the match.

Another tight game against Hull followed, but two wins from Noutch put Pudsey on top. Hull levelled at 2-2 with Pugh faced Luke Carrington in the deciding match. Pugh lost the first two ends but recovered to take the next three ends all 11-9 to give Pudsey victory.
