PUDSET St Lawrence Cricket Club teams had a difficult weekend.
Under 15s -
A YOUNG Under 15s team found life difficult at a strong Congs side at the Brittania ground on Sunday.
Seeking their first league win opener Oliver Beckett battled hard to give the Saints a good start but was run out for 14 and Pudsey f
ound it hard to make headway against a fast and accurate Congs attack.
Alex Hopkins struck a fine 21 including a superb six and Haydn Garnett held together the lower order with some great straight hitting for his 15 but a total of 74 never looked to be enough.
Congs openers raced away to a good start off the first five overs and despite tight bowling from Mark Hodgson and Alex Hopkins eased past the Saints total with overs and eight wickets in hand.

Under 13s -
PUDSEY suffered their first defeat of the season in a nail biter against Woodlands.
They just came up short in the gloom on Thursday chasing a competitive 107.
Matt Beckett and James Doidge both retired on 30 and looked to have set Pudsey up for a win but excellent Woodlands fielding held Pudsey back and despite Will Sharp guiding Pudsey toward the finish line he was run out for 12 in the run chase and a frantic last over saw Pudsey needing six to win.
David Bland and Luke Thornton battled for the runs but fell despairingly one run short.
Earlier James Doidge was the pick of the Pudsey bowling with two wickets from an economical three over spell.
