A NUMBER of Pudsey Pacers were among the 500 who contested the popular Horsforth 10k, staged by Horsforth Harriers from Woodhouse Grove School at Apperley Bridge.
First home for the Pacers was Paul Gaile, in training for the Toronto Marathon, who clocked 38:18 for 26th place overall.

Jim Wheldon was runner-up in the MV55s when recording 39:10 for 36th position, while Mark Dixson and Nigel Craven came home in 41:44 and 41:46 respectively. Nigel's effort was a personal best, as were those by Richard Gibson (44:07) and Alan Nowell (46:49).

For the ladies, Sam Raven ran a fine 48:56, supported by Paula Bray and Anne Gowing, who dead-heated in 53:13. Birthday girl Mandy Bannister celebrated with a commendable 55:16.
