GREEN-FINGERED pupils picked up a special award at Leeds Civic Hall after their school scooped a Gold Award in the Leeds in Bloom competition.
The hard work of children, staff and volunteers at Pudsey Lowtown School was recognised by the judges of Schools in Bloom.

Headteacher Rebecca Howells said: "We are very proud of our grounds development over the last year. In particular our new vegetable garden which has survived the slugs over the wet summer and contributed to a very special Harvest Festival celebration.

"We are now planning the planting for the new season and looking forward to nurturing the plants and eating the produce".
