Head Girl, Rachel Stuart has bagged one of the top five marks nationally for A-Level General Studies and gained three As and a B but she was not the only Rachel to be awarded impressive results.

She was joined in her celebrations by best friends Rachel Harrison and Rachel Bird, who were awarded four A grades, and three A grades and two B grades respectively.

All three girls intend to go on to university to continue their studies.

Rachel Harrison said: "I am thrilled with my results; I have worked very hard during the past two years to ensure I secured top grades.

"I know there is a lot of talk about A-Levels becoming easier but I feel I achieved top grades through pure hard work and the help of my school, not because the exams are easier."

Principal Trevor Kernohan said: "The hard work and dedication of all of our Sixth Form students has once again paid off, maintaining our impressive 100% average pass rate over the past five years at A-Level.

"I am extremely proud of all our students, today's results should go a long way to enable each student to have a bright and successful future."
