A campaign to restore the dilapidated Pudsey Roller is gathering pace as an independent support organisation will be launched on Saturday.
The Road Roller Association's Pudsey Roller Restoration Fund will become known as the Friends of the Pudsey Roller.
* Click here to sign up to free news and sport alerts from Pudsey Today.The initial launch will take place at mid-day at the Family History Fair at Pudsey Civic Hall, when the Friends will be initiated by the Pudsey Carnival Queen Lauren Prince, who will be in attendance at the event.

Later on the same day an open meeting will take place at the Conservative Club, Chapeltown, at 7pm with an illustrated presentation on the History of Rollers in Pudsey.
Derek Rayner, vice-chairman, will talk about the Pudsey Roller and the hopes and aspirations for the new organisation.
