The event is being held on Saturday, May 16, with the Music and Dance theme aiming to provide plenty of scope for imaginative floats and costume in the traditional parade through the town centre.

This year's entertainment includes a motorbike display team, competitive games and other activities to get the whole family participating.

The reigning Carnival Queen, Lauren Prince will be available to attend community events until she hands over her crown on the day and the organisers are now looking for entrants, aged between 9 and 11 years, who would like to be next year's Carnival Queen.

Closing date for applications is March 16.

The Carnival always brings in the crowds and only takes place through the hard work of volunteers and the support of local businesses and the community.
