Pudsey Carnival 2009 helps bring in the charity cash

Residents who got in the party mood at Pudsey Carnival 2009 helped to raise hundreds of pounds for this year's designated charity.
Music and dance were the themes of the carnival parade which drew in the crowds despite the mixed weather.

The parade attracted plenty of attention as it left and returned to Queen's Park, the carnival's regular venue.

Entertainment included the City of Leeds Pipe Band, Punch and Judy, martial arts, a rugby display, belly dancers and stunt motorcycling.

Around £479.53 was raised for the Pudsey-based Northern Star Group.
They offer training in public performance to young people.
