Excitment is building for this year's Pudsey Carnival.
The theme this year will be World, Food and Costume and the parade is set to start from Queen's Park at noon on Saturday, May 17.

To get people in a party mood, Raymond Eddy's Fun Fair will be open at the park from Wednesday, May 14.

A number of covered pitches have been made available to local charities at normal rates in Pudsey Civic Society's marquee.

A spokesperson for the society said: "We aim to support the rich heritage of the old Pudsey alongside its present and future interests and the carnival has a long tradition enjoyed by the entire community.

"The marquee will provide the opportunity for new participants to promote their voluntary work to the thousands of visitors expected."

Interested charities from Calverley, Farsley and Pudsey Districts should contact Jackie Depelle on (0113) 2360253 or email her at: info@pcs-online.org.uk
