Marley Street fire: Police called to Beeston house fire find 'cannabis grow' inside

A house fire in Beeston was attended by firefighters and the police, who found a “cannabis grow” inside.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police were called to the incident in Marley Street shortly after 8.15am today (June 5). A spokesperson said: “A cannabis grow was located within the property, which is currently being made safe.”

No one is believed to have been injured and enquiries are ongoing.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at around 8am this morning to a house fire in Marley Street, Cross Flatts, Leeds.

"Crews attended from Hunslet and Leeds, with aerial support from Morley and Leeds. Hose reels and breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the loft fire before the incident was handed over to police just after noon.”
