Man dies after Mini Cooper veers off road in serious crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal crash in North Yorkshire claimed the life of a 22-year-old man.

It happened on Sunday at about 9.15pm near Sherburn-in-Elmet.

A red Mini Cooper travelling along Fenton Lane towards Church Fenton left the road and came to rest in a field.

The driver and only occupant of the car, a 22-year-old man the Tadcaster area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

He sadly died in hospital.
