The regeneration Pudsey will be getting a helping hand with the decision to appoint a town centre manager.
The outer west area committee has agreed to provide funding for a town centre manager to focus on revitalising Pudsey town centre.

An overwhelming majority of visitors and businesses in Pudsey agreed that a town centre manager would be of benefit to the area, in a recent survey commissioned by the outer west area committee.

Councillor David Blackburn, chair of the outer west area committee, said: "The appointment of a town centre manager for Pudsey will help build on the regeneration work already ongoing in the town.

"The manager will link with the current businesses and work to promote the town centre to help increase visitor numbers and ultimately boost the town's economy."

The town centre manager will be responsible for day to day management of the town centre, marketing, publicity, events, drawing together investment from partner organisations and seeking external funding for further improvements.

The main aims of the town centre manager will be to enhance the attractiveness of the town centre to increase their vibrancy and sustainability, and to help create centres where increasing numbers go to shop, for entertainment and leisure.
