Leeds has been in Tier 3 restrictions since December 2.

That meant that Leeds and all of West Yorkshire was placed into the highest tier of restrictions possible.

However, the government are now reviewing whether Leeds should remain in Tier 3 or move to Tier 3.

Can I leave Leeds to travel to other areas? Tier 3 and Tier 2 travel rules explained

- hospitality settings, such as bars (including shisha venues), pubs, cafes and restaurants are closed in Tier 3 areas – however they are permitted to continue sales by takeaway, click-and-collect, drive-through or delivery services.

- you can continue to travel to venues or amenities which are open, but should aim to reduce the number of journeys you make where possible

- The government has advised to avoid travelling to other parts of the UK, including for overnight stays other than where necessary, such as for work, education, youth services, to receive medical treatment, or because of caring responsibilities.

- However, you can travel through other areas as part of a longer journey

- Government guidance says that ‘wherever possible, people should avoid travelling and minimise social contact’.

- Tier 3 areas are advised not to travel to Tier 2 or Tier 1 areas

- If you live in a Tier 2 area you can travel to a Tier 1 area - however must continue to follow the rules of Tier 2

What is Tier 3 and what does it mean for Leeds?

- Household mixing is banned anywhere indoors

- Two households can mix in limited circumstances in parks and fields, but only if observing the rule of six

- Non essential shops can reopen following the national lockdown - Tier 3 allows shops to be open

- Pubs, bars and restaurants cannot open their doors - they must operate for collection and delivery only

- People in Tier 3 are advised not to travel outside their area

- Hotels must close and overnight stays outside the local area are not permitted
