Boss Neil Parsley felt his Farsley Celtic side showed enough quality to earn a replay as their FA Trophy dreams vanished without trace at Corby Town's Rockingham Triangle in a 2-0 defeat.
Two first-half goals from Stephen Diggin and Leon Hibbert were enough for Corby to secure passage into the second round of the competition.
Parsley was disappointed the Celts were unable to extend their winning run to six games, but he was pleased with the performance of his side.
He said: "It was a strange game; I thought we had done enough for a replay.
"We wanted to keep our winning run of games going so we are disappointed; however, I am pleased with the way we played against one of the top teams in the Blue Square North.
"It is a testament to how far we have come."
Diggin put the home side in the driving seat midway through the opening half.
The striker spotted Celts keeper Piotr Skiba off his line and lobbed the helpless stopper from 25 yards.
Farsley came back strongly – Gareth Grant and Roy Stamer both having shots saved by Corby keeper Mark Osborn. However, Corby scored the killer goal on the stroke of half-time.
From a corner, Hibbert lost his marker and was able to head home from close range. The goal effectively finished Farsley off, Lee Ellington the only player going close for the Celts in a dull second half.
